This calculator checks continuous residence requirements only. These other requirements for settlement on the Global Talent route are not checked here:
- Your endorsement must not have been withdrawn (GT 10.1)
- You must have earned money in the UK in your endorsed or prize-related field during your last period of permission (GT 10.2)
- English language — B1 speaking and listening now, rising to B2 for applications made on or after 26 March 2027 (GT 13.1)
- Knowledge of Life in the UK (Appendix KOL UK) (GT 14.1)
- Suitability — you must not fall for refusal under Part Suitability, and must not be in breach of immigration laws or on immigration bail (GT 9.1–9.2)
Qualifying period: 3 years if endorsed by the Royal Society, British Academy, Royal Academy of Engineering or UKRI, endorsed under exceptional talent, or granted on a prestigious prize (GT 11.1); 5 years if endorsed under exceptional promise (GT 11.2). Absence limit: CR 3.1 — no more than 180 days outside the UK in any 12-month period.
