What VisaXplain Is
VisaXplain is a technology platform that publishes source-grounded summaries of UK immigration rules, interactive calculators, and automated audit reports. Our aim is to make publicly available Home Office rules more understandable and accessible to applicants, their families, and the professionals who advise them.
We are not a law firm and are not authorised to provide immigration advice under Section 84 of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999. For formal advice, we always direct our visitors to the Immigration Advice Authority's adviser finder.
How We Research
- Primary sources only. Every factual claim links to the relevant paragraph of the Immigration Rules, Caseworker Guidance, or GOV.UK page.
- Timestamped reviews. Every page carries a "Last reviewed" date so you know when the content was last checked against the current rules.
- Fact vs commentary. We clearly separate factual summaries of Home Office rules from any editorial observations or practical commentary.
- Open corrections. Errors are corrected promptly with a dated correction notice. We do not silently alter published content.
Calculators and Reports
Our interactive calculators apply published Immigration Rules to the dates and parameters you enter. They are designed for educational self-audit — helping applicants understand their continuous residence history, potential absence risks, and indicative settlement dates before seeking formal advice or submitting a Home Office application.
Calculator outputs are indicative only. They reflect the rules as of the calculation date and do not account for Home Office discretion or facts not entered into the tool.
Your Data and Privacy
We process personal data in accordance with the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018. Calculator inputs are processed in your browser and are only stored on our servers when you choose to save a report. You can delete your account and all associated data at any time. Full details are in our privacy notice.
